The Shed

The one thing I’ve noticed since moving to Cornwall is how many people readily part with the destination of their favourite breakfast place…

Case in point is The Shed. This place is basically a brunch lovers best friend and when 4 different people told me about it in the space of a week, I knew I would have to check it out.

The Shed is run by the friendliest couple you will ever meet! Their attention to detail and clear passion for their job is what strikes you as soon as you open the door.

The Shed is tucked into a little side street and you could be mistaken in thinking it is a blink and you’ll miss it kind of place. It may be small but you are invited in before you have even stepped a foot in the door. Comfy wooden seats sit outside and even though it was a dreary damp day when we popped in people were sitting outside, safely dry under a cover.

Inside is cosy and relaxing with tempting home baked goods on every available surface and a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

As you know I am not a meat eater and I am allergic to wheat and rice and my fiance MC is allergic to nuts (we’re a super fun couple to eat with) but The Shed took all this in their stride pointing out things that we could have and suggesting alternatives, something I can’t tell you how much we appreciated.

I had the veggie breakfast and MC had Canadian style, maple syrup bacon with eggs and toast which he did not stop going on about for 2 DAYS! We also had massive hot chocolates, probably the most impressive I’ve seen since moving here.

If you want really good home cooked food, an inviting atmosphere and leaving feeling like you’ve made friends with everyone in the restaurant ( we got chatting to a lovely couple next to us ) then The Shed is for you.

Check it out and let me know what you thought!
